First of all, and while only a few wedding photographers will admit it, it unfortunately DOES happen. Sometimes couples are unhappy with their wedding photos, and brides do find themselves saying, "I hate my wedding photos." Regardless of whose fault it was, or what could have been done in the moment to avoid it, the reality is what it is: you have your pictures back from your wedding and you don’t like them. Now what do you do?
Obviously, we here at Pro Photo Doc are here to help when your wedding photos do not turn exactly how you planned. Here are some additional tips we can offer if and when you find yourself in this unfortunate circumstance:
Talk to your photographer.
If you find yourself saying,"I hate my wedding pictures," we recommend that you immediately communicate this with your photographer. Talk to him/her as calmly as possible and tell them specifically what the problem is. Be prepared to tell them exactly what it is that you don’t like about your wedding photographs so that they may specifically address those issues. Believe it or not, there are things that photographers can do to fix your bad wedding photos (i.e. remove objects, blur background, change/alter angles and lighting, etc.). Not all of the bad wedding photos will be salvageable, but you may be pleasantly surprised by the magic that can be worked via photo editing programs like Photoshop and Lightroom.
